Speaker Guidelines

Our Speaker Guidelines are designed to help presenters prepare confidently for their conference sessions. They provide practical information about presentations, session formats, timing, technical requirements and other details that speakers should consider before the event.

Before the conference

  • Confirm your registration. Every presenting speaker must be registered for the conference.
  • Check your session day, time and room in the Scientific Program and in your Speaker portal.
  • Send your slides to the conference team by the date given in your confirmation email.

Preparing your slides

  • Use 16:9 widescreen format and a clear, high-contrast design.
  • Start with a title slide showing your name, affiliation and any conflicts of interest.
  • Keep to one main message per slide and make text large enough to read from the back of the room.
  • Embed videos in the file and bring a copy on a USB drive as a backup.

Timing

Keep strictly to the time you have been given. Session chairs will stop talks that overrun so the program stays on time. Leave time for questions.

On the day

Arrive at your session room at least 15 minutes before the session starts and introduce yourself to the chair. Technical staff will help you check your slides.

Presenting online

Virtual speakers receive joining instructions before the conference. Use a wired connection if you can, a headset microphone, and a quiet, well-lit room. We will arrange a technical check beforehand.
